Then, too, the community has an interesting history with many firsts – the first house between Bonham and the falls of the Brazos, the first county seat of Navarro County, the first court of that county, it was probably the first school in what is now Ellis County , the first brick house and, lastly, the first and only case of yellow fever in the county.
